Xiaomi launched its latest Redmi Note line-up of phones yesterday on 28th October 2021. The smartphone & electronics manufacturer from China revealed the line-up of its mid-segment focused Redmi Note series smartphones. The new Redmi Note series comprises of 3 phones – Redmi Note 11, Note 11 Pro & Note 11 Pro+. These new phones are the successors to the Redmi Note 10 series smartphones. The Note 11 is the most affordable out of the 3 and the Note 11 Pro, Note 11 Pro+ have bigger batteries, the Pro+ model will come with 120W fast-charging.
Value Offering – Redmi Note 11
All 3 new phones from Redmi look similar but the Redmi Note 11 has a slightly smaller form factor and lower specifications. The Redmi Note 11 comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset & has 4 memory options – 4/6/8 GB RAM with 128/256GB storage combinations. The display is a 6/6-inch LCD display with 90Hz refresh rate. The rear of the phone houses the 2 primary cameras in the large camera island – a 50MP primary lens & a 8MP ultra-wide lens. The front camera has a 16MP camera for selfies & other stuff.
The note 11 has a 5,000 mAh battery and comes with a “ONLY” 33W fast-charging charger out of the box which can charge the phone from 0 to 100% in 62 minutes (as claimed by Redmi). The fingerprint scanner is on the side of the phone and it also acts as the power/lock key of the phone. The phone runs MIUI 12.5 on top of Android 11 OS, it also gets a 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C for charging/data transfer, an IR-blaster & stereo speakers. The phone has dual-SIM connectivity & 5G support but misses out on a dedicated microSD slot. The Redmi Note 11 will be available in 3 colours – Mysterious Black, Milky Way Blue, Mint Green.
Going Pro – Redmi Note 11 Pro & Redmi Note 11 Pro+
The 2 Pro models of the Note 11 line-up look and have the exact same dimensions. The Pro models also share quite a lot of the internals but there are a few key differences. The Note 11 Pro & Note 11 Pro+ models are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 920 chipset and will be offered in 3 RAM/Memory configurations – 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB & 8GB/256GB.
The Pro models feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate & 360 Hz touch sampling rate. The display has a small 2.96 mm diameter punch-hole cut-out for the front-facing camera. The Note 11 Pro+ gets a 120W fast charging with a 4,500 mAh battery, the phone can be charged from 0-100% in 15 minutes. The regular Note 11 Pro gets a 67W fast-charger and a larger 5,160 mAh battery.
Both the Pro version Note 11 phones get a 108MP main camera with a Samsung HM2 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide camera with a 120° field-of-view and a 2MP macro-camera. The front-facing camera has 16MP shooter. The smartphones have dual JBL-tuned stereo speakers, a 3.5mm audio jack and 2 0.65mm mm3 sound chambers to boost audio quality. Rest of the features are similar to the standard Redmi Note 11 model. The Redmi Note 11 Pro will be available in 4 colours – Mysterious Black, Forest Green, Timeless Purple, Milky Way Blue. The Note 11 Pro+ will be available in 3 colours – Mysterious Black, Forest Green, Timeless Purple.
The Redmi Note 11 models will be available for sale in China from 1st November onwards and the phones might come to Indian shores by December 2021 or early 2022.
The phones can be expected to be priced at around Rs. 11,000 to Rs. 12,000 for the basic Redmi Note 11 and upto Rs. 25,000 for the most expensive Redmi Note 11 Pro+ model. Although, due to global silicon shortage & supply chain crisis, the arrival of the Redmi Note 11 series might get delayed or it might not be available in all colours/specifications.
