Steps to check the results of UPPSC AE 2020 at uppsc.up.nic.in

  • UPPSC (The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission) has recently declared the results for the Assistance Engineer (AE) examination on its official website: www.uppsc.up.nic.in
  • Not to be confused with UPSC, UPPSC is the state agency authorized to conduct the Civil Services Examination for entry-level appointments to the various Civil Services of Uttar Pradesh.
  • The syllabus of UPPSC is the most important component of the PCS (Provincial Civil Services Examination) preparation like IAS, PCS syllabus is very wide in its horizon expansion adding into Uttar Pradesh current affairs and general comprehensiveness.
  • AE, there are a total of 128 candidates who have been qualified for the main examination and shall be appearing for the interview round out of 1,37,605 candidates.
  • Candidates who have either appeared for CDS or AE or both the exams can check their results in the same official website: www.upsc.up.nic.in
  • This combined state engineering services examination was conducted in the year 2020 with 627 vacant posts under general recruitment and with 21 posts under special recruitment.
  • The application for UPPSC was started accepting from 30th of December, 2019 making 30th of January, 2020 as the last date for accepting these applications from the aspiring applicants/ candidates. Therefore, the total number of candidates were ready to appear UPPSC Prelims is 137605.
  • The interviews of the qualified candidates will begin from February 22 taking along 1284 candidates for the appearance to this specific selection process, as per the announcements made by Jagdish, the UPPSC Secretary.
  • Due to the outbreak of the pandemic, the exam was held on December 13, 2020 setting up its centres at Prayagraj, Agra, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur and Lucknow with a mere 41% of the total applicants appearing the written exam.
  • Within the notification for UPPSC, the number of posts is declared against which the recruitments can increase or decrease on request of the state government. As per it, a maximum of 244 posts of assistant engineers was on the offer in the irrigation department including 171 posts of Civil engineers and 73 posts of Mechanical engineers.
  • According to the secretary, the results have been revised following the detection of certain anomalies in the results due to technical glitches, thus, cancelling the previous results. This cancellation was necessary to be declared due to the number of errors been detected in the results of the posts of labour enforcement officer and child development project officer. This error took place as different serial numbers were indicated in the advertisement and the online application for these two posts.
  • The PCS (Pre)-2020 exam results of UPPSC was recently declared on November 21 declaring 5393 candidates successfully by the commission. As per the revised results, 5535 candidates have now been declared successfully by the commission.
  • The 1131 candidates who failed to qualify in the revised results despite initially being declared successful, include those 967 candidates who unfortunately couldn’t meet the eligibility criteria set for the post of child development project officer. 139 others too failed to match the eligibility criteria for the labour enforcement officer, remaining 25 candidates disabling to meet the cut-off criteria.
  • The announcement regarding the UPPSC Recruitment exam also added the fact that the subject to the final decision of the Allahabad high Court in the special appeal (D) 475/ 2019 filed by the Uttar Pradesh government.
  • According to the official notice of UPPSC, the result of the female candidates who are from out of U.P. shall be subject to final order and judgement of Hon’ble High Court in Special Appeal no. 475/2019.
